The Department has issued updated FVT/GE reporting guidance, including a new deadline for outstanding data. Institutions now have until January 15, 2027, to report required data for the 2024 and 2025 cycles.
The Department of Education has provided guidance on reporting requirements for FVT/GE and the option for the early implementation of the new Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS) and Earnings Accountability data collection.
A number of institutions have not reported or under-reported Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment data from the 2024 and 2025 reporting cycles. These were initially due on September 30, 2025, and October 1, 2025. The Department is providing a new deadline of January 15, 2027, to submit all required data for the 2024 and 2025 reporting cycles. The department has noted that failure to report the required information may raise an administrative capability concern.
Reporting for the 2026 cycle is due October 1, 2026. However, institutions have an option not to report certain data elements in the FVT/GE collection. These optional data elements are outlined in Electronic Announcement General-26-43. If an institution chooses not to report these optional items, the Department will consider it early implementation of the final regulations that eliminated these items under new STATS reporting. If not early implementing, the institution must report all required data elements for FVT/GE.
